Dark Death, Fiery Life
She runs through the night,
the moon casts a white glow on her,
creating a flash of light as she runs by.
Her sweat soaked hair sticks to her face,
running down her back in swirls of black.
Her flowing white sundress,
perfectly outlines her legs as they run against the skirt.
There is nothing behind her,
there is nothing ahead of her,
only the moon and stars light up the night.
She is like an angel,
running through the darkness of the desert.
Her body burns for oxygen.
Her legs ache for relief.
The pain is all ignored.
She is almost there.
The running girl takes one last step,
pushing her foot off of the ground,
and sends herself to fall to the darkness below.
Falling…
Falling…
Falling…
It seems like forever.
She raises her head,
only to look straight down.
Gravity pulls her into the mouth of the dark beast below.
There is no fear in her,
her heart starts to slow and relax,
her eyes close as she nears the bottom.
Sharp rocks of teeth await her arrival.
There is sounds of snaps and crunches.
Blood blankets and flows along the Earth.
The rocks surround and hold her mangled body,
she sinks to the ground as the stones start to wrap around her.
Twisting and molding.
Until there is a cocoon of rock that boxes her in.
There is silence,
in this dark place,
where even the glow of the moon would dare not to venture.
There is a crack,
followed by another.
Steam arises from the top of the molded rocks,
streaks of bright orange crack down the sides.
Fire breaks free from them,
pushing pieces of rock in all directions.
There is now a large blaze that burns,
casting shadows along the cavern,
burning high as to reach to the sky.
It then takes form.
The sides of the fire grow higher,
and the middle rounds down some.
A high pitch squeak is sounded from the fire,
which now softens to reveal skin.
No.. feathers…
A dazzling arrange of orange and red feathers,
still glistening with the fiery glow.
These feathers appear to be on the body of a bird.
A large, beautiful bird.
Her eyes burn red, yet the color is peaceful…
Happy…
Calm…
The fire dims and stay along the edges of her wings,
which are then spread out to show off the metallic rainbows colors.
They shine with the energy of fire,
lighting up the darkness around her.
Within all that is lit,
roots sprout forth from the dirt,
growing and spreading green,
creating a beautiful painting.
They blossom with flowers of all colors,
and grow along the walls,
reaching up to the sky.
The massive bird watches the last yellow flower,
as it grows and it opens to show off glistening petals.
Letting out a loud shriek,
she pushes herself off he ground,
moving her wings to guide her into the sky.
All is dark below her.
A massive wasteland.
A graveyard of the Earth.
The colors of her wings shine brightly,
lighting up all that is below her,
allowing the green plants and flowers,
to grow along and follow her flight.
A line of green and colors following closely behind her,
sweeping over the dark desert.
She continues to fly…
Forever she will fly…
Creating life where there was once death…
Creating life through the fire that burns within her…
Creating life so she could live.
